Masculine Custom Card: Co-Worker leaving

Here is a simple masculine custom card I was hired to create for someone whose co-worker was promoted and leaving the current location.  The request was for a card large enough for a large staff to comment & sign.  The card itself measures 5 x 7″, but has accordion-style fold-outs to accommodate the required space.

The front of the card is a die from Impression Obsession, Sending Lots of Good Wishes Word Block Die  that I cut out with brown cardstock then grey cardstock.  I carefully cut the words from the border & using my Art Institute Glitter Designer Adhesive & Art Institute Glitter Ultrafine Metal Tip glued the words onto the brown cutout.  The wood panel paper is Ella & Viv’s Single-Sided Wood Background #2 Cardstock.  I edged the paper with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink Pads by Tim Holtz.

The inside ampersand is from an old Sizzix alpha die set & the Thanks is an older Sizzix Pop’N Cuts magnetic die.  As I did with the front die, I carefully cut out the word “Thanks” from grey cardstock & attached to the brown cutout.  I cut a small piece of the woodgrain paper to cover the top of the thanks pop-out.
